How to block a shot

The best shot block technique is to lie down and face the opposite direction the puck is going. People who like to block shots are basically not scared of anything. People who shy away from the shot block will most likely be guys who don't play on the penalty kill. In clutch situations the coach loves when people fall to the ice for a super speedy puck flying at there chest. Its for the boys, the guys on your team that would love to take the W in the win column. Especially if theres some serious mustard on the shot that he blocks.

You must skate as close to the opposition skater as possible. Drop to the ground and make sure you hold your neck with your glove so if you get hit there you wont almost die. If you go to tongues out you must put your blade at the front of your ankle to keep away from breaking your foot. In order for it not to hurt your arm when you get hit there you must have large elbow pads and great protection from your glove. If you do all of these things correctly you ill successfully have blocked a shot!

Lottery house

If i had won the lottery my dream house would have to include thre things. Comfort, Fun and happyness. For me comfortness would be a spa with my on masuce and a hottub with rocket hard jets. Fun is a place where you can have parties, watch TV, play video games etc.. Happyness is both those two things put together. If your happy, generally it means you have a nice house, which is what id definately have to have. For my kids Id want to have a huge house that would be a great time for my kids to play hide and seek and wonder around. One room would have to have be all about hockey such as two nets to play a game with, several puck and hockey balls. Passing pucks past the line that I made with my spare time is alot of fun for me.
I enjoy little luscious lemons to have at the top of my ice tea cup to give it some more flavour. To have that i would need my own personal butler serve me drinks and make my food. A maid would have to wait until i started feeling fear about the house getting dirty.. I love having a theatre room so i can watch spooky shows and see catch the big game on HD

With no Voice

This was shocking, before I went to bed last night I had a light fever but I thought it would be better by tomorrow. My fever had gone away.. I had tried telling mom that theres no fever anymore but no words came out. Maybe it was strep throat or when i was hollering to loud at hockey last night.
"Mom I think I have to go to the doctor" I had written down on a piece of paper.. She responded with "Oh sure hunny whats wrong?". "I dont think my voice is working all that well, when I attempt to to talk, nothing comes out but just a simple old cough.
The doctor said I have been diagnosed to some kind of non talking syndrom and that I would have it for the rest of my life. What should I do now, no more laughing, singing, screaming you name it. Im not sure what it will be like to not cumminicate with my friends which basically means no more sleepovers.. or when I'm playing hockey I cant call for the puck. My life is basically over now. I guess I'll just have to live with it.

Halloween costume:)

For Halloween I brought an osama binladden mask to school, it definitely frightens everybody out of the building.I know it was amazing, hopefully I'm going to win the costume challenge.
Unfortunately i don't think ill get the W this year, but maybe next year I'll dress up as something fantastic instead of just having a silly Osama mask. Costumes become quite scary if there being worn during the dance seeing as its so dark in there. Even all of the teachers seem to be dressed up, not just the students.

The mine story.

To: The family.

I had just been mining in Chile when all of the sudden a bundle of rocks crashed down on top of our entrance. All of The people down here are absolutely ridiculous. I was at the point where I could have killed myself, but then I thought of you guys.. Flashlights had just been lend ed down to us, now we can finally see where everyone is without bumping into one another.

They have also sent down cards for us to play with, seeing as we have nothing else to do besides sit there and stare at the cavern wall. The outsiders told us we most likely wont be out for a whole thirty days, although I've already been through five this should be a long frightening journey.

On day three I got into a slight brouhaha with one of the miners beside me, it started as he was trying to steal my flash light. I did not let that happen.

My story

I once had a dream that I was trapped inside a hotel way out in the middle of no where. The door of room 204 would not open. As I sat there by myself hollering, "I need help get me out of here!" Nobody seemed to be around at this point besides this really fierce looking man outside my window. He kept shouting at me "Do you want to die? Hop out this window if so."

Somebody had to come help me before he finds away to get up here. There was no possible way of contacting anybody because there's no phone or radio. "Open Up!" Screeched the scary man. As i heard the door banging I quickly looked out and saw that no one was outside, this meant I could possibly have a free run for it. "I'll open the door in a second" I hollered. The car was sitting outside ready to be driven, although I had only been thirteen at the time there was still a chance I could handle it seeing as my mom always let me drive to my house when were just up the street.

I quickly hopped out the window, my leg started getting numb. "stop right there!" shouted the man. I tried ignoring him, as soon as I got to the car I jumped in the window and started driving. Thankfully I had known where I was going, or else I wouldn't be here right now.

Breakfast

As i wake up on an peaceful Saturday morning wondering what I'm about to absorb into my body, the crepes started almost climbing up into my nose like they were about to hibernate. The bacon slowly started crackling inside the pan seemed to smell the best so far, but wait a second the hash browns started turning a light brown as were the crepes.

I quickly threw on my housecoat and dashed into the kitchen. Right away i poured some orange juice into my cup, sat down into the chair and started feasting. The taste of all the wonderful foods in my mouth at the same time was priceless. Once I had finished all of the food it was time for the Orange Juice to be drank.

"Oh Boy" I moaned as I fell onto the carpet in the living room. Seems like I almost had eaten to much that morning. On Sunday morning I had a bowl of cereal, which means i definitely felt a lot more comfortable after that..

The "Tattoo"

If i were to get a tattoo it would have to resemble something of my past, maybe someone who has died in a car acidents birthday on my wrist. My Sister has a tattoo of her best friends birthday who had just died in a car accident the previous year, she got it in the coulour dark blue. Obviously she wouldnt get the colour red or pink because she would look silly. The tattoo colour has to blend in with your skin, if you know what i mean by that, kind of like a chameleon would blend into a tree.

Koolaid

Oh how i love cool aid, just the way the red powder swirls around inside the cup before you stir it all up. In my books Cool Aid is definitely top 5 ultimate thirst quenchers for after any xercise such as running, working out, hockey, or even running up the stares from you basement to kitchen.
My favorite type of koolaid would have to be the blue kind. Blue raspberry i think, then red would be a close second which is cherry. Sometimes people get tired of making Cool Aid so they just purchase the juice boxes. This strategy could also be used for people with kids who like to send there kids off with a nice cold Kool Aid jammer in there lunch.
Cool Aid was invented in the early eighties by a man named Lars Edler. He was just a normal everyday person that came home one day and put together some baking soda, flour, sugar and even a hint of food colouring. Some how he put this together and thought he could get lots of money of of it and he did. All he had to do was send his ingredients to a creation company. Lars is now a multi millionaire. Every time a box of Cool Aid is sold Lars makes twenty five cents!

where am i?

I am, in a hockey rink somewhere in the middle of B.C. Our team goes by the name of the Westside Warriors. All i see around me is players skating around trying to beat eachother to the puck. I witness the score as it sat 2-1 for the home team, Which was us. That smell of the ice when you first step foot into that rink is unforgettable. Everybody on the ice sees the red light go off behind the Warriors net, 2-2 game so far going into the third period the buzzer went off to signal the 3rd to start. Looks like we got this one in the bag, as its 3-2 with one minute left in the third. Our coach is yelling his lungs out of his body telling us what to do in the defensive zone. We picked up the two points that time boys, good job kids.

8 arms?

If i had eight arms my life would be easier times six. Sports, typing, eating or just life in general. except it doesnt really make too much sence how our brains could control al eight arms.
if only i could imagine how fast of a typer i would be, or how good you would be at sports. Such as hockey, soccer or even baseball (easier for catching). If you were a proffesional wrestler you would definnately have an extremely large admantage aside from the other fighters.
My final desicion would have to be stay myself and only have to arms, mostly because you would get made fun of alot and have to clean alot more while your in the shower.

Science journal entry

Journal Entry Brad
I am now okay, but I have been through a lot. My name is Charlie and I’m 17 years old. My old town was Port-au-prince which is the capital of Haiti. Haiti is a small country just outside of Cuba, one of the most popular countries in the world, but not population wise. When the big Haiti earthquake happened I was sitting inside my small townhouse just outside of Leogane, the country where the earthquake hit. About 3 hours before the earthquake happened there was a large group of people yelling at me from across the street telling me to get as far away from here as possible.
I am a white person with a good amount of money. My dad lives in Toronto and owns the CN tower which means he could fly his personal agents into Port-au-Prince just to save me. The plane wouldn’t arrive for the next three and a half hours. It was then that I grabbed my cell phone and a bottle of water and started to run. Buildings in the distance started collapse and people started to scream, as much as I wanted to help them I couldn’t because the land was all foggy and musty. If I tried to help all the Haitians I would get caught up in a large rock and die. I called my dad’s agents and told them to hurry, they replied, “I don’t know where to pick you up”. Fly to the only Haiti airport I pronounced.
While running, I saw ahead of me a large white building. The earthquake had already hit and was coming my way. Not only that but I still had to run a good 20 minutes to get to the airport where the agents were picking me up. All I thought was I’m not going to die, but I didn’t know that with my fist clenching and my breath slowly running out. I saw the Agents in the distance! Flying into the airport waiting for me to show up, keep in mind I have been running for the last two and a half hours.
Behind me the ground was rumbling and cracking into small little pieces and I sniffed up many little pieces of ricks from the soil of the ground. There was a huge catastrophe behind me. Nobody will ever know what this feeling is until you live it. All my clothing that I took on my trip would now be burnt up from the earthquake clashing with the power lines just outside of my visiting home.
The jet saw me running towards the airport, just in case I didn’t make it they decided to fly over to where I was. I could feel the ground crumbling beneath me, I had just dropped my water onto the ground and only focused on getting onto that plane. I need to get to Toronto I announced.

Pickle Write

Pickle Write
I am a salted cucumber you can place me on many types of food. For example you can fry me in a pan or on a barbeque but I would prefer otherwise. My favorite food to be on is a hamburger for many reasons, I like all my surroundings but as much as I like ketchup I would rather have all my friends shredded up into relish lying beside me. Every single day I look forward to be eaten by someone new! My pet peeve is when I get purchased in a store by a person with bad teeth.
I can’t stand the taste of rotten teeth clenching against me and my friends. I have never really felt sorry for something else ever in my whole career of reforming but I definitely do once I see my relish friends being eaten by rotten teeth. Reforming means to be eaten unlimited times and still end up in the super market, I honestly don’t know how it happens.
Here can I tell you a little story. Once upon a time I got taken a side by some people working at the market but they weren’t just ordinary people they were the head leaders of the North American tasting program! Apparently somebody brought me in to the Market one day and said how good I tasted and the tried a sample, I felt like this could be something big.
The Tasters loved me they wanted to put me in the white house located in Washington D.C. I really wanted to go there seeing as the furthest I have ever been is Las Angeles which is on the west side of America and Washington is on the east. You could basically call this the big leagues for pickles I saw some of the most popular pickles in the world that I have looked up to my whole life and now I am sitting with them in the same room.
All my friends from my hometown Vancouver keep telling me that they saw me on TV just a couple days ago on the news for the best tasting pickle in the world right up there with the three time winner Mcharles, and oh boy didn’t he taste good it was like he almost melted in your mouth. The news broadcaster announced “I think Kinney has a chance to be just as good tasting as Mcharles is!” After a couple of weeks sitting inside the main office with Mcharles and all his pickle friends The votes came in from all over North America and including the judges, basically the only topic the people vote on is based on our name and shape not how good we taste. That makes a lot of sense because those people don’t get to taste us, only the judges do. Those judges had the best teeth that I have ever experienced. They were nice and big, white and clean! “Our votes have just come in” announced the judge. “The winner is… Chandler!” Oh well that’s great I sighed, neither me nor Mcharles won.
Well at least I have made a name for myself, when I first pulled into Vancouver all the people were canting my name “Kinney” “Kinney” “Kinney!” screeched all my surroundings. It’s funny how they didn’t believe in me but now they’re calling my name. I now look into the sky and think the world is mine I know that all my life I made it.
I have now had kids with my beautiful wife Lena. Hopefully all my relish kids will be the best tasting relish in North America; after all they do have the blood for it. In a few weeks I have to travel with my family down to Moscow the capital of Russia for another challenge I am going in, the winner gets to be sold in the most popular Market in the world which is also in Russia. The main question is how do us pickles travel like this? The answer is a dream.“WOAH! Mom I just had a dream about the pickle I ate last night, it was in a contest and it had kids that were pieces of relish and he travelled to many different cities to enter contests.” “I don’t think I should have pickles for awhile” I said to myself quietly in my room. I will never forget about that dream that was the first time I have ever dreamed about a food. I can be happy about one thing; at least it is a Saturday morning not a Monday.
My mom quietly took me aside in the kitchen and said to me, “Last night I saw you tossing and turning hollering “please win” “please win”, I didn’t know what you were doing but once you told me about the competition I started to understand and who’s Mcharles?” Mom Mcharles was the three time champion I explained. She snuck out of the kitchen, went into her room and screeched “Bradley get ready for school you have ten minutes before your bus comes!” Mom my bus doesn’t leave for another twenty minutes and you have to go to the market and buy me some pickles for breakfast. Mommy, maybe you can write me a note to get out of school so I can pick my favorite brand of pickles out called “Bick’s Pickles.” “No Bradley I will not take you out of school maybe I will get you a large can of Bick’s sometime this week but not today” sigh… I guess it’s just an ordinary day with the same rotation as always, maybe I’ll have another astonishing dream in the future…

Accident (Good Copy)

I was Batman, fighting Joker at the top of a forty-five story building. As we all know this was the Shanghai finance center in Shanghai. We were standing on the worlds highest deck in the world. It was a long deadly battle between the two of us we didn't exactly expect what was about to happen. We fell off the very top of the building I could see the jokers face right in front of me, I could smell the smell of popcorn down at the circus. It was unexpected for sure but all I hear was the Joker screaming " I'll kill you"! I felt nothing but inside I felt alot I had this strange feeling that I was going to die very soon..

Slow Down.

I was running around playing tag with all my friends. We were in my backyard where there was a creek over the fence. I opened the fence door because I thought it would be an amazing hiding spot. It started to get dark out. My mom was at work, I wasn't supposed to have all these friends over. Jimmy was running after me then some weird feeling hit me. I didn't know what it was but it was sure frightening..
It was a Jurassic fall although it was about half a second, It felt like half an hour. I smelt the old smell of grass sinking into the water. I heard all my friends asking if i was gonna be okay, all I saw was the water with my face about to be smashed into it. I felt this immense rock smash into my face. My sight changed into blood gushing out of my forehead.

My Childhood

My childhood neighborhood was priceless. My house sat at the bottom of a hill in a large spaced out neighborhood. We had lived on a river although it took awhile to get to the bottom it was worth it once you got down there. I also had a corner store at the end of my street by the trailer park. My friend Andrew and I would always bike there. I remember having to beg my mom for money or just search inside the change jar. I also played road hockey with my friends Carl, Andrew, Ziggy and Brogan. My house was really big and open. I had four floors and half an achor of land in my back yard. My friend Andrew and I always met down in the tall grass around where the river was. We also started making a fort made out of trees at our bus stop everyday before school and everyday after school. My favorite years in Prince George were about grade three to six. My dog loved it there to. He was always doing something active. I always raced him with my bike to the end of our street and back, if he won he would get a treat which he always loved.
I always biked to school in the Summer with my friends. I always will remember those days. It was warm and sunny out, and after school I would go floating in the river or play video games with Andrew. Brogan was also one of my best friends, I had always went to his house weather it was to go to hockey or sleepover for the weekend. I hung out with alot of people outside my neighborhood to. But i really enjoyed playing road hockey outside with all my friends when it was warm out. Hide and seek outside and inside were always a fun thin to do. With such a large yard like I had. We always picked to play hide and seek go tag. I had made a mini stick arena downstairs in my basement. We called it Prospel center. Halloween was always a good time, I would sleep over with my friends on Halloween night. After we trick or treated we played video games and mini stick all night.
I remember going to my dads store that he owned at least once a week to visit and sit in the family room. I liked to play hide and seek with all my friends there to. Downtown Prince George was also exciting when there was a circus or a parade on the streets. There was many hockey rinks to play on in PG. I moved from Prince George when i was twelve years old. It is fairly sad when I come back to see my house. But change is always good...

My cookies are better then your cookies.

“My cookies are better than your cookies” implied Paulina.
Maggie quickly replied, “No way my cookies are five star”.
Curt jumped in and announced “how about we have a competition? Me and Dougie will be the judges”
“Okay fine it’s a deal” Maggie sulked.
Pauline screeched “Mine will be the best I’m sorry I’m the parent here”.
“On the count of three we will start baking one….two….three… start”! Dougie gasped.
“This should be exciting” mumbled Maggie.
“Okay the cookies are in”! Yelled Curtis.
Doug repeated, “We have made our decision, it was a tight battle but Paulina has came out on top.”
Maggie: “Well that blows”
Curt: “its okay Maggie, she has more the experience after all.”
“Pauline: Maggie you might get me next time.”
Doug: “Yes Maggie I believe in you.”
Maggie: “Well I personally think mine are better!”
Pauline: “Yea, well that’s not what the judges think!”
Doug: “well we are all done with the arguing. So Pauline will you make our desert?”
Pauline: Yes I will! Thank you very much.”
Curt: Mom you’re the best.”

My Moms MIschapes

Once my dads hockey game was over him and his friend Scottie left to go to a night club. And my Mom was driving with her friend colleen when the problem started. A scary looking man made a creepy looking face at my mom. She would slow down, then the guy would slow down, She would speed up the guy would speed up. Sooner or later my mom pulled into her house and took out my sister from the back seats. While she left my brother in the car, as worried as she was she had to get into the house with my sister, colleen and herself. The guy pulled into the driveway, went into the back yard and started banging on the glass, Maggie and Colleen sat there and watched the creepy man clash his fist on the glass, meanwhile my mom had to run outside and take curt out of his car seat and run him back in the house! She succeeded, she ran into the house thinking that the man was right behind her, but really the man was still down at the back yard scaring the guts out of Colleen and my sister. Although my brother and sister didnt know what was going on, my mom and Colleen did. And if anything happened to my sister or my brother they wouldn't be living now.
Another story was back in westside where my auntie lives, one night she was gracefully sleeping in her bed downstairs in her house. My uncle wasn't home, all the lights were turned off, everything was silent. Louise didn't here the glass break at the top floor of the house. In the middle of her sleep she woke up to feel the breathe of a dark dark man on her face. The man dashed to the sliding glass door. It happened to be locked, meanwhile my auntie was screaming to death and didn't know what to do! She helped the man get out. As fast as he could he ran to the front of the house and climbed into a bush. He was never seen again. My auntie witnessed the whole thing with her own eyes! She didnt know what to do, with no sleep that night, she sat there crying and frieghtened. By that time the cops cleaned the driveway up. I guess there was blood all over the front yard, from the scary man trying to break through the glass and getting his fingers caught. Yes these are both true stories!

Gum

I smell like a watermelon, but im really a peice of lime green stride gum... I was made in Canada, bought in a shell gas station, by a guy by the name of Curtis. After awhile i guess i lost my taste and Curtis had to start on a new peice of gum. There was no garbage around, so he decided to throw me down the toilet like i was never worth anything to him.

When should you start driving

People have debates on which age you should start driving at. I personally think you should start driving when your fourteen. Everyone knows the reason for this is is because i don't want to wait. But there might be a few problems with the maturity level. When your younger you might just want to fool around on the road, another reason I would want to be able to drive at fourteen would be to take myself to friends houses and to movies.

If you were sixteen it would make sense that you would drive your younger siblings to the movies and to bowling alleys and places like that. You could drive yourself to restaurants for dates... Or your first year that you play junior hockey is when your sixteen, so you can drive yourself to your own games. Same with any sport.

I honestly think eight teen would we to old. thirt teen year old's would have there dream crushed. At this time you wold be fully grown and matured so that is the upside of being 18 and getting your licence. If the driving age was at this maturity level i would have to wait another five years which is way too long.

Free Write.

I went to penticton for provincials. Our first game we got set out to play against Campbell River, we beat them 9-4 then we played Quesnel and won 5-3, our last game in the round robin would be played against the Mission Stars. The game was rough but we still won 5-3, they're parents were very upset and mad after the game. We have made it to the semis, against the Cranbrook Ice a team we have beat before by a score of only 1 goal. Cranbrook had won the game by a score of 2-1 we lost it with less then 5 minutes left... The team we beat 9-4 actually went to the final and won while we were off to play for third. We of course lost the game for third as we had nothing left in us. The provincials was still a great experience and i hopefully would like to be there next year as well.

Cars

Cars help us transport from place to place. Without cars our world would have no pollution. But they make up for that by there tremendous speed to travel to new locations. Most cars are small and have quick agility unlike large trucks that just put put around on the highway. My favorite car is most likely a Ferrari just because of how fast they go which actually makes them a favorite of most kids in the world.

People would prefer cars with a sun roof, heated seats, air conditioning, stereo system and even Xm radio. Although cars with all of those accessories may cost a lot more then a car without. I would prefer a car with heated seats in the winter and a sun roof in the summer. I have also known people who use cars as places to sleep which surprises me because one of my friends uncles died in the middle of the night because the fumes of the car that he left on. It's almost like he just died in his sleep no one really knew although.

The furthest place I have ever been in a car is California a lot of people like to drive to places close or nearby to them. Places like Vancouver b.c are types of places that My family and I travel to by car. Places like Mexico or Hawaii you would have to fly to which costs lots of money just to by one airplane ticket. I would rather fly to places like that because when you drive far you start to get bored but flying only takes a few hours to get that far sometimes i may get sick on a plane. But oh well.

Happiness

Jimmy was an 8 year old. He had always dreamed of being a famous basketball player, standing at 5-3. As he grew older his parents always pushed him to better, the better and stronger he got the more others were scared of him. People started to call him Jim as he turned 14.
Scouts from NBA teams started looking at him, and all the reports on him were excellent which most likely means he is going to go very far in his basketball career. He ended up being a top point getter in the NBA nobody could stop him. He gave money to charity and to poor schools. He also said how useful it is when you have heart, you don't always have to have skill.

Sadness

One day, Alex and his dad Jim went on a trip out to there family lake. The main reason they went was to fish. When they got to the lake it was already about 7 o'clock at dusk which meant there was no time left for fishing.
All we had left to do was make a fire and roast marsh mallows my dad actually made me make them for him, just so that were picture perfect golden brown. After we roasted our marsh mallows we came inside and watched a movie call the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. That night i could not sleep i was tossing and turning so often i fell off the bed several or more times. The next morning it was time to fish, we both got in the boat and started riding to about the middle of the lake. My dad pulled out his fishing rod and casted gracefully. It was shocking what happened, I didn't expect it as I attempted pulling out a hook from my upper lip.

Senses Write

As I sit in the bleachers, wishing wonderfully to get on that ice. All i could hear was cheering, yelling and whistles blowing so loud I couldn't hear the salvernaste strides on the flat ice surface. I could see families, with babies whimpering wildly and teenagers tensely texting. I could see the players zooming vastly down the ice as they applied tremendous pressure on the opposing defense man. I saw the puck flying into the the crowd off of a strong tip in front from the power forward Zack Eastman. I was eating a chocoalte bar. The smooth soft texture in my mouth melting. All i could feel was the stitches of peoples jackets surrounded near my seat. I saw the score was 3-1 for the home team, Kelowna. The opposing team, Chilliwack Buins were frustrated because there top player Daniel Sieh was getting shut down. I could see all of the retaliating that ws going on out there. The Rockets were almost afraid to go on the ice which is not really a good way to feel in the middle of a hockey game. Most of the music after whistles and before the periods started were loud heavy metal\pop i saw Little boys pouncing up and down with there t-shirts striped off of there body. The majority people laughed at the kiss cam on the jumbo tron when 2 people that were dating kissed eacother for about 10 seconds. The game ended the Chilliwack Bruins were tremendously frustrated by the final score 4-1 for the Kelowna Rockets. My favourite part of game was when the ref got knocked over by one of the forwards off of the Bruins. Everyone laughed... Once i got home i atched the highlights of the Vancouver Canucks game on TV the also won. Once the night ended i had a happy sleep.
